Through our years of walking alongside refugees in Whatcom and Skagit counties, we’ve seen firsthand the many challenges our immigrant brothers and sisters face as they navigate life in a new land. In recent months, these challenges have only grown, and our passion to do more has deepened.

With that in mind, we are in the process of launching a new nonprofit which will serve as an immigrant resource center. This will be a walk-in space where newcomers can connect with the resources and support they need. Looking ahead, we intend to offer short-term housing, community enrichment classes, and other opportunities that help people feel rooted and thriving here.

While there are already a range of service providers that offer valuable assistance to immigrants in the community, our experience over the past several years has shown the need for a hub organization that can connect newcomers with those services in an efficient and informed way.

To help bring this vision to life, we are hosting a “One Community, Many Cultures” fundraiser on Saturday, November 1st that will both share the story of this new nonprofit and celebrate the many cultures that make up our community.
